Windhoek Draught Outjo Wildsfees a popular festival that is celebrated annually in the small town of Outjo, Namibia. Outjo is known as the gateway to the famous Etosha National Park, one of the most popular tourist attractions in our country and in Africa.
The festival was first established in 2003 by the Otjikondo Farmers Association with the idea of creating a platform for a wildlife auction. Since then, the festival has developed into one of the most popular family-oriented festivals in Namibia. The wildlife auction is still one of the biggest attractions of the festival and is known for its top-quality crossbred gemsbok bloodlines as well as a wide variety of wildlife species.
The Otjikondo Farmers Association's vision was to invest in the community as well as its development and nearby institutions. Members of the town's institutions and businesses became involved and took over the management of the festival in 2014. The Outjo Wildsfees was transformed into a successful community event with a focus on local culture and traditions.
